Parent Commitment

The Sudbury Swim Team has been fortunate over the years to have the outstanding support of the parents. Many people are needed to run a team of this size smoothly and successfully. It is the team expectation that each family will volunteer to work at a minimum of 3 meets/events during the course of the season. There are many jobs at the meets that require parent help. The Director of Parent Volunteers will assign jobs, oversee all the positions, instruct newcomers of how to do the jobs, and remind parents prior to the meet of their responsibility. If parents are unable to work the position on a given day, it is the parent's responsibility to find a replacement.

Families that choose not to meet their responsibilities, will be billed $100 for each missed responsibility.

Team Clothing

Each year prior to the start of the season new suits and caps will be ordered. All swimmers must wear the team suit and caps to meets.  The suits are fitted and sold by the Varsity Swim Shop of North Reading, MA at a practice in early November. We require that all swimmers with hair that falls below the ears wear a bathing cap at practice. Hair in the face or even in a ponytail is very distracting to the swimmer and represents a cleanliness issue for the pool drains. We also require that all swimmers wear goggles during practice as it increases their capacity to participate for the entire practice. In addition, optional team clothing will be for sale. This team clothing is designed by Graphic Connections in Sudbury MA.
