New Members

This year registration for the Sudbury Swim Team is offered to new swimmers beginning July 1, 2008. Swimmers must be between the ages of 7-17 as of November 1, 2008 and completed the upper levels of Red Cross swimming instruction.

Available spaces will be given to Sudbury residents first and then to children from surrounding towns. Available spaces are determined after the in-house registration for current swimmers (and swimmers from the waitlist last year) which occurs August 15-September 30th.

We have an established waiting list based on date of receipt of application. Once a child is placed on the wait-list, team placement will be made according to space available in each age/sex category. We will inform you if your child is placed on the waiting list and destroy your check.

We will only accept as many children in each category as the team can responsibly handle.

Current Members

In-house registration for current members for the winter 2008-2009 swim season begins the 15th of August and we will continue to accept registrations through September 30th. ! New member registration begins on July 1st and continues until September 30, 2008. As of October 1, 2008, we will fill any vacant spots with the new team registrations that are done on a first-come, first-served basis.

We ask that you seriously consider the team commitment of 20 weeks, 3 practices a week and a required attendance at 6 of the 8 dual meets as well as required participation at the championships in March. We realize that there are unavoidable conflicts that will occur, but we hope and expect that team spaces will be well used given the large number of children who are waiting to swim. Thus, We are asking the swimmer and their families to make this commitment so that the maximum number of children who want to swim, can take advantage of the program.

The season officially begins on Wednesday, November 1, 2008. We will hold our annual mandatory parent meeting at the Nixon Elementary School in Sudbury on October  2008, (date to be determined).

Fees

The fee for the 2008-2009 season is $375/child. The fee for the third sibling is $275, while the fee for a fourth sibling is $250.

If the swimmer drops out of the program prior to or on November 15, 2008, fees will be refunded.

No refunds will be made after NOVEMBER 15th.

Team Size

We have the capacity to serve 144 swimmers. This is the maximum number of swimmers the team can support given our pool and staffing resources. This allows for approximately +-30 children within each age category.

Once the capacity is reached for each age group or the whole team , children will be placed on a waiting list.
